Der Fokus von Albertina Contemporary liegt auf der Kunst der zweiten Hälfte des 20. Jahrhunderts und zeigt sowohl die Stars als auch die Vielfalt der Postmoderne: Werke von Anselm Kiefer, Gerhard Richter, Arnulf Rainer, Georg Baselitz, Alex Katz, Kenton Nelson, Imi Knoebel, und Maria Lassnig bilden neben anderen das Zentrum der diesjährigen Präsentation zeitgenössischer Positionen aus der Albertina.

Rund 80 Meisterwerke illustrieren die facettenreiche künstlerische Produktion, die von Figuration bis Abstraktion, von Farb-ästhetischen bis zu politischen Themen reicht und veranschaulichen die komplexen parallelen Strömungen der vergangenen Jahrzehnte.

#AlbertinaContemporary ist von 13. Juli 2016 bis 19. März 2017 in der Albertina zu sehen.

The focus of Albertina Contemporary lies on art from the second half of the 20th century, featuring both the stars and the broad diversity of postmodern art, and in this year’s presentation of contemporary output at the Albertina, works by Anselm Kiefer, Gerhard Richter, Arnulf Rainer, Georg Baselitz, Alex Katz, Kenton Nelson, Imi Knoebel, Maria Lassnig, and others take centre-stage.

Around 80 masterpieces serve to illustrate the multifaceted nature of postmodernism, ranging from figuration to abstraction and from colour aesthetics to political themes, while also providing a clear impression of the complex parallel trends of the past few decades.

#AlbertinaContemporary is on view from 13 July 2016 until 19 March 2017 at the Albertina.
