Dear Angel, it's me
The one who's left down here alone
I hope this letter reaches you
As you soar in your new home

Life is often hard without you
Even though it's been 6 years
Nights come and your touch is gone
As I find myself in tears

I awake to search for your arms
And realize I am lost...you are not there
I close my eyes and can almost feel you
Running your fingers through my hair

The wind blows around my body softly
As I feel your gentle touch
Angel, do you ever think of me?
I miss you so much

I often awake with sudden tears
As I imagine how you lost your life
We were supposed to last forever baby
Without tears, or wrath, or strife

But now I sit here alone and in tears
As I miss your caring face
I can still feel your gentle kisses baby
I still know your sweet embrace

And when the clouds open in the sky
And they let the sun shine through
I can see your gorgeous smile baby
Yes, I know that it is you

I always knew you were an angel
But never thought that you'd take flight
Until my horrible nightmares began
Those dark and endless nights

I can only pray that God took you quickly
And you didn't feel any pain
For if I knew that you suffered baby
I'd die for you all over again

I'm still down here, just like I promised
Wishing I could at least visit your grave
I'll live forever in your love, my angel
Float forever in your wave

And when the day comes that He sends for me
I pray He'll let you be the one to take me home
And you can smile and hug me tightly baby
You'll know I made it on my own
